Finding the right part
How do I find my laptop's model number?
Turn the laptop over and look for the sticker or engraving on the base: the model name and number are printed there. On Windows, press the Windows key and R together, type msinfo32, press Enter and read System Model. On a Mac, open the Apple menu and choose About This Mac. MacBooks also have an A number, such as A1708, engraved on the underside.
How do I find the part number of my battery or charger?
Look at the label on the old battery or charger. A battery usually prints a part number or model code, plus its voltage (V) and capacity (Wh or mAh). A charger prints its output voltage and amps. If the battery is sealed inside your laptop, please do not force the cover open: use the laptop's model number instead, or ask us on WhatsApp.
Is there a tool that finds the right part for my laptop?
Yes. Open Find my part, choose what you need (battery, charger or screen), pick your laptop brand and type the model or part number. You will see only the parts listed for that model. It works like the search box, so you can also type a model straight into the search at the top of any page.
Can I search by model number or part number?
Yes. Type the model, the part number printed on your old part, or a screen panel code into the search box at the top. Results appear as you type and the last word is matched as a start, so even half a code such as FX505 shows matches. Try a short model first, for example Inspiron 5570.
How do I know a part will fit my laptop?
Compare your laptop's model number, or the code on your old part, with the title and the Description on the product page, which list the models the part is made for. For screens, also check the size, resolution and connector. If any detail is different or unclear, ask us on WhatsApp with your model number before you order.
I cannot find my laptop model. What can I do?
Try a shorter search, such as just Inspiron 5570, or type the part number printed on your old battery, charger or screen. Try with and without the brand name. The shop does not list every laptop, so if nothing shows up, send us your model number on WhatsApp and ask whether we can help.
What is the difference between a screen panel and a screen assembly?
A screen panel is the display itself, the part that lights up. A screen assembly, also called an LCD module or, on MacBooks, an upper set, comes with more of the lid attached, so it is a bigger part and can be easier to fit. The title and Description of each listing say which one it is. Ask us if you are unsure which your laptop needs.
How do I know if my laptop has an LCD or an OLED screen?
Check the full specification of your exact model, or the panel code on the back of the old screen. An OLED panel is not interchangeable with an LCD panel, so match the type and do not swap one for the other. Listing titles say OLED where it applies. If you cannot tell, send us the model number on WhatsApp before you order.
What must match when I buy a replacement laptop screen?
Match the size in inches, the resolution (for example 1366x768 or 1920x1080), the connector including its number of pins, and whether the screen is touch or non-touch. The panel code is printed on a label on the back of the old screen and is the safest way to match, because two screens of the same size can still have different connectors.
How do I choose the right laptop charger?
Read the label on your old charger. The voltage (V) must be the same. The amps (A) or watts (W) should be the same or higher. The plug must also match, for example 4.5 x 3.0 mm or 5.5 x 2.5 mm, and some chargers use a plug with a centre pin. A laptop that charges through USB-C needs a USB-C charger with enough watts.
How do I check my charger's wattage?
Read the small print on the charger's label. It shows the output, for example 19.5V 3.34A. Multiply the two numbers to get watts: 19.5 x 3.34 is about 65W. If the label already shows watts, use that. Choose a replacement with the same voltage and the same or higher wattage.
What do V, Wh and mAh mean on a battery?
V is the voltage, which must match what your laptop expects, so check the part number rather than guess. Wh (watt-hours) and mAh (milliamp-hours) both describe capacity, which is how long the battery can run. A higher number usually means longer use. You can work out Wh by multiplying volts by amp-hours: 11.4V x 3.5Ah is about 40Wh.
About our parts
What does "aftermarket" mean?
Aftermarket parts are made by other manufacturers to fit a laptop. They are not made, sold or authorised by the device brand. We name a brand only to show which laptops a part is made to fit, and we are not affiliated with Apple, Dell, HP, Lenovo, ASUS, Acer, Microsoft or any other brand.
Are your parts genuine or original?
No. Every part in this shop is aftermarket: it is not made, sold or authorised by the device brand, and we do not sell it as a genuine brand part. The brand name on a listing only tells you which laptops the part is meant to fit.
Are you connected to Apple, Dell, HP or other brands?
No. iDevice Parts is independent. We are not affiliated with, or authorised by, Apple, Dell, HP, Lenovo, ASUS, Acer, Microsoft or any other device brand. Brand names appear only to show which laptops a part is made to fit.

Do you sell phone or tablet parts?
The shop currently lists laptop parts, including MacBook and Surface screens. See All categories for the latest list. For a phone or tablet part, please ask us on WhatsApp. For phone and tablet repairs, see our repair centre at idevice.sg.
Can I read or write reviews?
Star ratings and reviews appear on a product page once customers have reviewed that part. Only customers who bought the part can write a review, and each review is checked by the shop before it is shown.
Ordering & account
Do I need an account to place an order?
Yes, you sign in or create a free account at checkout. To sign up you need your email, your name and a password of at least 8 characters. A mobile number is optional when you sign up. Your account keeps your orders and addresses in one place.
How do I check my order status?
Sign in and go to Account, then My Orders. Your orders sit in tabs such as To Pay, To Ship, To Receive and Completed, and you can open an order to see its items. I cannot look up an order from here, so please use My Orders, or message us on WhatsApp with your order number.
How do I change my address or phone number?
How do I use a voucher?
The Vouchers page lists the vouchers available at the moment, and it can be empty when none are running. In your cart, use the Voucher box to pick one or type a code, then apply it before you check out.
Delivery & collection
Do you deliver, or can I collect from the workshop?
Both. At checkout you choose delivery to an address in Singapore, or collection from our workshop at 6 Harper Road, Leong Huat Building #05-02, Singapore 369674. Any delivery fee is shown at checkout before you pay. How many days delivery takes is something we confirm for each order, so ask us on WhatsApp if you need it by a certain day. Please also check with us before you come down to collect.
How much is delivery?
You choose collection or delivery at checkout, and any delivery fee is shown there before you pay. Collecting from our workshop is the other option.
Do you deliver outside Singapore?
This shop is set up for Singapore orders, with prices in SGD. If you need something sent anywhere else, please ask us on WhatsApp before you order.
Payment
My payment failed or I was charged twice. What should I do?
Please do not pay again straight away. Sign in and check My Orders: an order that is waiting for payment shows under To Pay. If you were charged but the order does not show as paid, message us on WhatsApp with your order number and a screenshot of the payment.
Returns & warranty
Will fitting an aftermarket part affect my laptop's own warranty?
It can. Each laptop maker has its own warranty terms, and some do not cover faults linked to parts they did not supply. If your laptop is still under the maker's warranty, check with the maker before you fit any aftermarket part.
Repairs & fitting
Do you repair laptops as well?
Yes. iDevice Repair Centre repairs laptops and MacBooks at the same address as this shop. Walk-ins get a free diagnosis, and you get a written quote before any work starts. See idevice.sg for the repairs we do.
Can you fit the part for me?
Our repair centre at idevice.sg repairs laptops, and walk-ins get a free diagnosis and a written quote before any work starts. Whether we can fit a part you bought here, and what we would charge, is something we confirm for each case, so please ask us on WhatsApp first.
Can I fit a battery or screen myself?
Some parts can be fitted at home, others cannot. Always switch off and unplug the laptop first, and use the right small screwdrivers. Many batteries sit under the base cover, and screens are fragile and connect with delicate cables. If you are not confident, let a technician do it. Our repair centre at idevice.sg offers a free diagnosis for walk-ins.
My laptop does not charge. Is it the battery or the charger?
Try these first. Plug the charger into another wall socket, check the charging light on the charger and on the laptop, and look for a bent pin or a loose charging port. A charger that stays dead with no light may be faulty. A laptop that only works while plugged in often needs a new battery. If you are still stuck, our repair centre at idevice.sg offers a free diagnosis for walk-ins.
My laptop screen is cracked, black or has lines. What do I need?
A cracked screen needs a new panel. For a black screen or lines, connect the laptop to an external monitor or TV. If the picture is fine there, the screen or its cable is the likely cause. If it is blank there too, the fault may be elsewhere, so get it checked before buying a part. Our repair centre at idevice.sg offers a free diagnosis for walk-ins.
How do I check if my laptop battery needs replacing?
On Windows, open Command Prompt, type powercfg /batteryreport and press Enter, then open the report file it saves and compare the design capacity with the full charge capacity. On a Mac, open System Settings, then Battery, and check Battery Health. A battery that drains fast, shuts the laptop down suddenly or looks swollen should be replaced.
Battery & charger care
My battery looks swollen. What should I do?
Stop using it right away. Unplug the charger, switch the laptop off, and do not charge or press on the battery. Keep it away from heat and never puncture it. A swollen battery needs replacing and is best removed by a technician. Do not put it in the normal bin: take it to a battery or e-waste recycling point.
How do I dispose of an old laptop battery?
Do not put it in the household bin or the paper and plastic recycling bin, because lithium batteries can start fires. Take it to a battery or e-waste recycling point. Tape over any exposed contacts first, and keep a swollen battery somewhere cool until you can drop it off.
How can I make my laptop battery last longer?
Keep the laptop cool: do not leave it in a hot car, and do not use it on a soft bed that blocks the vents. Try not to run the battery down to zero often, and avoid leaving it at 100 percent for days. Use a charger that suits your laptop, and check whether your laptop has a battery care setting.
My charger gets hot. Is that normal?
Warm is normal, especially when the laptop is charging fast or working hard. If the charger is too hot to hold, smells of burning, buzzes loudly or has a damaged cable, unplug it and stop using it. Do not cover a charger while it works, and have it checked.
Is it safe to use a different charger from the original?
It can be, if it matches. Use the same voltage, the same or higher wattage and the right plug. Avoid chargers with no label or maker's name, and never use one with a damaged cable. We cannot tell from here whether a particular charger suits your laptop, so check the label on your old one or ask us.
Can I charge my laptop with a USB-C charger?
Only if your laptop is designed to charge through USB-C. Check the laptop's port and the label on its original charger. The USB-C charger also needs enough watts: a weaker one may charge slowly or not at all while you work. If your laptop has a round charging plug, a USB-C charger will not fit.
